Today, Balachandar T.C.H. Training College wrote a new chapter in the history of Dandupalya, a village rather wrongly perceived by the general public as the abode of criminals. At Dandupalya, we arranged a free health camp. The camp was inaugurated by Dr. K. Srinivasan, Director General of Police, Karnataka. The Camp had 4 MBBS Doctors, 2 BDS Doctors and 2 Veterinary Doctors. The camp was the first of its kind in the village Dandupalya, Hoskote. The people of Dandupalya are socially discarded just because a few members from this village have criminal background and are engaged in robbery and murder.

Dr. K. Srinivasan gave a patient hearing for the agony of the villagers and consoled them that they are good people. He distributed medicine to the farmers and enquired about their cattle etc. The camp was a great encouragement to the disappointed and dejected villagers of Dandupalya. Dr. Srinivasan appreciated the trainee teachers of Balachander TCH College for undertaking social service activities such as cleaning the village drainage, creating awareness about health, pollution and illiteracy in a village like Dandupalya.
When our trainee teachers went to Dandupalya, a remote village, the people of the village were very happy as we were there to listen and recognize their problems and agony. The people of Dandupalya are a socially oppressed lot. The prevailing perception about the villagers is that they are very cruel and uncultured. Nobody is ready to make marriage alliance with the Dandupalya people. Our trainees tried a lot to bring back their dignity and remove their inferiority complex. Because of the camp, to some extent, now there is an improvement in their self-confidence and there is willingness in them to join the mainstream of society.
