Electronics has immensely huge range of applications. We cannot imagine modern life without Electronic devices. The field is extensively developed and a very high degree of its potential is already exploited to make our world a better place to live in. Today, there is no place where Electronics & Communication technology doesn't find its application. The applications are in domestic gadgets, transportation, medical electronics, defence, communication & so many others. The trend is to save space, increase speed, become versatile and improve quality. Electronics and Communication Engineering fits into any industry. An Electronics and Communications Engineer who has the right aptitude for R&D can make significant contribution to the industry.

Its application has become more advanced in the recent past. Its recent applications include consumer electronics like DVD's, MP3, WAP(Mobile), Voice Over Internet, Medical Industries, Use of Optical Fibres, Laser Technology, Automobile Industry, Use of embedded systems in manufacturing precision parts in defense particularly. Another significant factor that has changed the face of electronics has been the emergence of software. Electronics in combination with computer software has significantly altered our lifestyle and work pattern and culture.

Department - Features

The Department has a highly motivated team of staff members with excellent authority on their subjects. They are always willing to learn hardworking and have a very high degree of commitment to their work.

The Department conducted a workshop on "VHDL & VLSI Design Tools" this year. The objective was to facilitate for industry institute interaction about the field.
