Two-year
duration consisting of four semesters. A candidate will be allowed a
maximum of four years to become eligible for the award of MBA Degree
failing which the candidate will have to register once again.
f. Admission
Requirements: - For admission to the VTU MBA Program, you require:
-
Any
Bachelor's Degree of minimum three years duration recognised by VTU or
any other Indian University (In case of other universities, need to
obtain eligibility certificate from VTU)

Candidates
should have passed the Bachelor's Degree with minimum 50% of the marks
in aggregate (45% in case of SC/ST and other groups classified by
Govt. of Karnataka)

Need to
attend a written test/examination conducted by the institution. Seat
allotment purely on the basis of merit in the written test.

For
working executives of Govt. Pvt. Or public sector units must have
minimum 3 years of work experience and should be sponsored by their
organizations apart from fulfilling the general requirements.

Curriculum
MVJ College of
Engineering offers the MBA Degree in 3 specialization streams:
Marketing, Finance and Human Resource Management.
A student can opt for
any one of the specialization and choose 6 papers in major
specialization (for 3rd and 4th semester) and
avail the option of taking two papers in another stream of
specialization.
Both the papers of
minor specialization shall be from the same stream.
The minor stream papers
shall be the fourth and eighth papers of the third and fourth semesters,
respectively.

- Attendance
Each
semester of the course shall be treated as a separate unit for
calculation of attendance. Attendance of 75% to the classes in each
subject of all the semesters actually conducted up to the end of the
semesters is a must and a minimum requirement. Failing to achieve this
percentage of attendance is a disqualification to attend examination
of that semester. This will entail the students to repeat the semester
again to qualify for appearing future examinations.
- Eligibility for passing
& awarding of class
University
examination will be conducted at the end of each semester. Students
are required to score minimum 40% marks and aggregate 50% marks
including internal assessment for pass in the theory subjects. The
candidate who has passed in all the subjects of first to four
semesters shall be declared to have passed the course and awarded the
degree. The class will be awarded on the aggregate marks of all four
semesters taken together.
Obtaining 70% and above
marks - First class with Distinction
Obtaining 60% or more but less than 70% - First class
Obtaining 50% or more but less than 60% - second class
(For
declaring Distinction, first class and second class, marks in
aggregate and passing in first attempt is a must)
- Internal assessment
The
candidate should score minimum of 50% marks in the internal
assessment. To secure a minimum of 50% he has to write the internal
test, submit assignments and present seminars according to the
university norms.
- In - plant training
& Projects
In the
end of II semester the candidate should undergo I - Plant training and
in the end of IV semester a Research Project should be prepared and
submitted to the University. The candidate in the viva - voce and for
the projects should secure minimum of 50% marks.
- Discipline
The
institution accords utmost importance to discipline both within and
outside the campus. Any violation of the ground rules of discipline as
framed by the governing council of the Institution will result in
expulsion. Ragging in any form is strictly prohibited and those who
indulge in it will be liable for action as per the relevant provisions
of Indian Penal Code.
