MCA Course

 

TITLE OF THE POST GRADUATE COURSE

 

Master of Computer Application (MCA) as awarded by Visveswaraiah Technological University

 

Duration : 3 years ( 6 Semesters )

 

Admission

 

Admission is open to the course to all the candidates who possess a Bachelors Degree of minimum three years' duration, recognized by the University but shall have studied Mathematics or Statistics or Computer Programming/ Computer science/Computer applications as one of the subjects of 10+2 level

 

OR

 

Any other examination as recognized by this University as equivalent.

 

Admission for MCA Course shall be open for the candidates who have passed the prescribed qualifying examinations with not less than 50% of the marks in the aggregate, in the examinations considered for the declaration of class. However, in the case of candidates belonging to SC/ST and any other group classified by the Government of Karnataka for such purpose from time to time the aggregate percentage of marks in the qualifying examination shall be not less than 45%.

 

Admission for MCA Course will be purely based on merit in their qualifying examination

Qualifying candidates from Universities other than VTU will have to obtain an Eligibility certificate from the VTU before seeking admission.

 VI Semester

Dissertation work to be carried out independently by each student, under the guidance of a Faculty Member.  Students are required to submit a report of the dissertation work duly approved by the Guide, which will be valued at the University.  Marks will be awarded after evaluating the report and viva voce with the student by an independent examiner.

 

 

Attendance Requirement

 

Each semester of the course shall be treated as a separate unit for calculation of attendance. Attendance to 85% of the classes in each subject of all the semester actually conducted up to the end of the semester is minimum requirement. Failing to achieve this attendance is considered as disqualification to attend examination of that semester and this will entail the student to repeat the semester again to qualify for examination.
