M.Tech. - AERONAUTICAL ENGINEERING
Eligibility Special Features Faculty Facilities Application Form
Beginning from academic year 2003-04, MVJCE has introduced a new PG Program in Aeronautical Engineering, a VTU and AICTE approved program. The program will be of 2 years duration spread over 4 semesters. The First and Second semesters of this program will focus on 6 core and 4 elective subjects. The elective subjects have been designed to complement and enhance the students knowledge and specialize in any one of the following streams, namely, Aerodynamics & Flight testing; Structure & Design; Propulsion & Systems; and Manufacturing.
Eligibility CriteriaEligibility is as per VTU/AICTE norms. Candidates possessing Bachelors Degree in Engineering or AMIE (India) or equivalent in the disciplines of Aeronautical, Mechanical, Civil, Electrical & Electronics and Electronics & Communication. Candidates should have passed the qualifying examination with not less than 50% of marks in the aggregate of all the years in the Degree Examinations. In case of SC/ST candidates, the aggregate percentage of marks should not be less than 45%. Faculty members of Teaching Institution, Employees of Public Sector / Defence R & D Organizations / Central Govt. & Private Industries are also eligible provided they have the required qualification and have put in a minimum of two/three years of working experience and should be sponsored by the concerned Organization.
Special features In addition to core and elective subjects, the program places great emphasis on seminar, industrial training and detailed project work which would be carried out in various Aeronautical Industries and R & D Organizations and laboratories, thus improving the career prospects of students. The course curriculum has been designed by experienced personnel working in major Aeronautical industries, R & D organizations and Academic institutions. Application areas as required by Aerospace Industries and R & D organizations will be given due importance. Institute Industry interaction will also be actively encouraged. Guest Lectures by Industry experts will provide up-to date knowledge. Information on current and leading edge technological aspects will be offered by eminent scientists and technologists such as Dr. CG Krishnadas Nair, former Chairman of HAL, and present President of SIATI, Sri. K Nagaraj former Chief Executive, CEMILAC and Sri. V. Soundararajan, former Director GTRE. Industry participation: The Industrial training and the project work will be carried out in some of the leading Aeronautical Industries, R&D Organizations and Laboratories. Regular technical Lecturers by industry experts and R&D organizations will form a part of the program
