A course that adds wings and value to careers, the M Tech in Aeronautical Engineering is being offered from the academic year 2003-04 to meet the growing demand for professionals in this field. The course provides the perfect avenue to capitalize on the opportunities created by the introduction of an open skies policy in the country. MVJ College of Engineering is the only institution under VTU, Bangalore in all of Karnataka that is offering this unique Program.

The two years Post Graduate Program in Aeronautical Engineering is a multi-discipline program for which engineering degree holders from various streams are eligible to seek admission. This program is approved by the AICTE and is affiliated to the Visvesvaraya Technological University. It is also approved by the Government of Karnataka.

The department has a highly qualified and competent team with more than 20 years of experience in R & D, industry and teaching. Most of them hold Ph. D / M Tech Degrees in Aeronautical Engineering. Technical lectures by experts from industries and R&D organizations further supplement the excellent teaching.

Spread over four semesters, the course focuses on importing specialized knowledge in the field of Aeronautical Engineering. Seminars, Industrial Training and Dissertation Work form part of the curriculum. The students will be evaluated on these as well as on the examinations conducted by VTU at the end of each Semester. A brief list of curriculum is as follows : Introduction to Aerospace Vehicles and Systems * Aerodynamics and Flight Mechanics * Applied Mathematics * Propulsion * Aircraft Structures * Aircraft Systems * Industrial Training.

Application areas as required by aerospace industries and R & D organizations are given due importance. Institute – Industry interaction is actively encouraged.
