THE COURSE DETAILS

The programme is spread over four years and consists of eight semesters.  Clinical experience will be provided according to the requirement of the programme.

In addition to that the students get experience from various other medical institutions and community health centres as per programme requirement.  Since a "hands on" experience is a major component of Nursing Education, a student who misses any part of the clinical experience for reasons other than availing the prescribed sick leave will be required to make up.  Students are advised not to get married during the course of the study.

Attendance, Progress and Conduct

Each student must have a certificate of satisfactory attendance, progress and conduct from the Principal of the College of Nursing to be eligible for appearing in University Examination.

A minimum of 80% attendance is required in Theory & Practical separately, in each subject.

Attendance of 10% may be condoned by the Vice Chancellor on the recommendation of the Principal based on genuinity of the case.

Appraisal

Performance of students is assessed by a system of:

  1. Periodical Internal Assessment in theory and practicals.

  2. University examination at the end of each semester in the subject(s) prescribed for the semester, 25% of the Internal Assessment grade will be added to the External Assessment grade.
