Training Methodology

The MVJ Institute of Nursing has a sincere and dedicated team of teaching faculty headed by a richly experienced principal Mrs.V. Parvathi.

The teaching methodology is totally unique and student-centric. The institute strives to achieve effective teaching through individual care, guidance and expert counselling. Theoretical classes are supplemented by seminars and symposia, group discussions, panel discussions, role-plays, etc. Also, teachers perform mock demonstrations for the benefit of students and they are encouraged to re-demonstrate as an exercise in gaining skill and confidence.

Besides regular training, the students will undergo case presentations and patient centred teaching in clinics and hospitals, in order to understand how better nursing care could be delivered to the sick people.

Charts, models, video cassettes and other audio-visual teaching aids are extensively used in teaching.

Clinical Experience

In line with the Institutes emphasis on practical training, the students are assigned to observe and practice what they learn at the Institute in a hospital atmosphere. Presently, the students are put through practical training under careful supervision at H.A.L. Hospital. This 250-bed hospital is one of the well-known hospitals in Bangalore and provides medical service to nearly 60,000 H.A.L employees and their families.

Night-Shift

Students will be under the supervision of a registered nurse when assigned to night shift. Students will not be assigned for night shift until the completion of first year.
