MVJ Polytechnic

Set up in 1985, with the objective of imparting superior quality education and training in polytechnic, MVJ Polytechnic is one of the oldest and well established Polytechnic institutes in Karnataka. It is located amidst lush greenery within the MVJ College of Engineering Campus.

MVJ Polytechnic offers full time Diploma Course in five leading branches of Engineering:

All these courses are recognised by The Directorate of Technical Education, Government of Karnataka. The time duration of the course is three years.


Syllabus

The syllabus followed for our Diploma Courses has been prepared by World Bank Project Curriculum Development Cell, Department of Technical Education, Government of Karnataka. The syllabus is constantly updated to keep the programme current. The programme has been structured to enable the students to develop written and oral communication skills as well as technical skills in specific areas of planning, equipment design and development, testing and inspection, maintenance and repair and servicing of machinery/systems.


Scheme of Examination

Board of Technical Education examinations are conducted at MVJ Polytechnic itself for all the three years of the course as per the Board of Technical Education norms and procedures.



  1. The minimum percentage for pass is 35% in theory and 50% in practical subjects
  2. Candidates who fail in maximum of three subjects are eligible for promotion to the next year.
  3. After successful completion of Diploma, the Diploma Certificate is issued by Board of Technical Education.
Academic Term

Academic Programme is based on Annual System from 3rd Week of July to end of May with term holidays being in November.
