Scope and Importance                                          Branch -

This is the most sought-after branch in the current years because the challenges, the demands and the technology are always on the ascending line; at the same time it is the toughest branch, which requires Mathematical skills, Physical concepts and Hardware design.

The Electronics and Communications engineering fits into any industry. If he has an aptitude for R&D, there are places where he can spare his brains to offer the latest technology to the industry.

Wide areas of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering falling to 3 categories are,

  1. Communication

  2. Signal Processing

  3. System Design

There is no place where the Electronics and Telecommunication technology doesn't find its application. The applications are in Domestic gadgets, Transportation, Medical Electronics, Defense, Communication and so may others. The trend is to save space, increase speed, include versatility and improve quality.

Department - Features

We have a set of highly self-motivated staff members with very good knowledge in the field. Our staff is very much interested in developing their teaching skills. They are very much hard working and always ready to learn.

We have very good laboratories with all requisite equipment. They are being enriched with modern equipment from time to time.

We have conducted a workshop on "VHDL & VLSI Design Tools". Which was na endeavor to bring in the industrial interaction whre the leading industries of the country. Got "ISO Certification" which itself says that the quality is being maintained in all the fields.


 

Internal Assessment

Each student shall obtain not less than 50% of the marks prescribed or the Internal Assessment of each subject, including seminar. Internal assessment marks shall be based on assignments, tests or oral examinations and seminars conducted in respective subjects.

Seminars

All students are required to present seminars on the topics chosen from the latest relevant fields as per the scheme of teaching and examinations. The performance in the seminaries adds to internal assessment marks of the student.

The students and staff are encouraged to attend high-profile seminaries and workshops such as the "computer science and automation and super computer Education and Research Center, IISc, Bangalore" and " Computer society of India students Convention" held at MSRIT, Bangalore.

Dissertation

During the sixth semester, each student independently under the guidance of one of the faculty members shall carry out the dissertation work. Students are required to submit a report of the dissertation work duly approved by the guide which will be valued at the university marks will be awarded after valuation of the report and viva voce with the student by the independent examiner.

Eligibility for passing

University examination will be conducted at the end of each semester. Students are required to score a minimum of 40% marks and aggregate 50% marks including Internal Assessment for pass in theory subjects. Students are required to obtain a minimum of 50% marks in Laboratory work, Seminar and Dissertation.

Discipline

The college accords utmost importance to discipline both within and outside the campus. Any violation of the ground rules of discipline as framed by the Governing council of the college will result in expulsion.

Ragging in any form is strictly prohibited in the college and those who indulge in it will be liable for action as per the relevant provisions of Indian Penal Code.

Other facilities in the campus

The college has within its premises a hostel for boys, which provides homely accommodation. A separate hostel for girl students is out side the campus. The campus also houses an extension counter of Canara Bank and a canteen for the benefit of the students. Adequate playground facilities are within the campus and the students are encouraged to participate in inter collegiate competitions.
