ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
From the academic year 2006 – 07, MVJ College of Engineering has introduced a new Under Graduate Programme in Aeronautical Engineering affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University, Karnataka, India and approved by the All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi and Government of Karnataka. The Programme is of four years duration spread over eight semesters.
Dr. K. Balakrishna, General Manager, Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd., Bangalore on September 07, 2007, formally inaugurated the Aeronautical Engineering department. As an immediate requirement for the B.E. Aeronautical Engineering course, the MVJ college of Engineering has established a Low Speed Wind Tunnel with a test section size of 2feet X 2feet(Square shape) and a maximum speed of 50 m/sec.
Dr. K. Balakrishna has also inaugurated the Low Speed Wind Tunnel facility on that occasion. This facility is now augmenting for undertaking in-house R&D and consultancy project work.
This department is flourished with world known aerospace scientists / academicians, who are having global experiences in aerospace industries. Now the department is aiming to produce highly competent aerospace engineers for meeting the needs of our country.
