One of the most dynamic and fastest-growing industries in India today, Biotechnology spans segments from Biopharma, BioServces, Agribiotech, Industrial Biotech and Bioinformatics. The Indian biotech industry today comprises more than 280 Companies and will provide one million skilled jobs by 2010. With India becoming a partner of choice for biotech, globally, the opportunities for qualified talent will only get better.

The BE Degree Course in Biotechnology is the first of its kind in Karnataka, initiated by VTU during 2002. The Department of Biotechnology at MVJ College of Engineering has a competent faculty, well-equipped labs and excellent infrastructure.
