Eligibility Criteria


Graduate Programe

Students wishing to join the graduate medical programme at MVJ Medical College & Research Hospital should:

  • Have completed 17 years of age on or before December 31 of the year of admission
  • Have passed 12 years of schooling or equivalent 10 + 2, with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English with a minimum of 50% marks in the qualifying examination. For students belonging to the SC/ST/BC Category, the minimum marks required for Admission is 40% in the qualifying examination.

Candidates from India or abroad with qualifications other than the ‘plus two’ examination of the Higher Secondary Board of Karnataka State and Central Boards should obtain and Eligibility Certificate from the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore, to be eligible for the interviews.

Foreign Students and Non Resident Indians (NRIs) are required to appear for a written test. Admission will be awarded based on the student’s performance in the test which will be followed by an interview.  Successful candidates must obtain a “No Objection Certificate” (NOC) from the Government of India, by applying through the Principal/Dean of the College to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. Post Graduate Programme

MD/MS Degree and Diploma Courses:

A candidate affiliated to this institute and who has passed final year MBBS examination after pursing a study in a medical college recognized by the Medical Council of India, from a recognized Medical College affiliated to any other University recognized as equivalent thereto, and has completed one year compulsory rotating internship in a teaching Institution or other Institution recognized by the Medical Council of India, and has obtained permanent registration of any State Medical Council shall be eligible for admission.

OBTAINING ELIGIBILITY CERTIFICATE BY THE UNIVERSITY BEFORE MAKING ADMISSION

No candidate shall be admitted for any postgraduate degree/diploma course unless the candidate has obtained and produced the eligibility certificate issued by the University.  The candidate has to make an application to the University with the following documents along with the prescribed fee:

  1. MBBS pass/degree certificate issued by the University.
  2. Marks cards of all the university examinations passed MBBS course.
  3. Attempt Certificate issued by the Principal.
  4. Certificate regarding the recognition of the medical college by the Medical Council of India.
  5. Completion of internship certificate.
  6. In case internship ws done in a non-teaching hospital, a certificate from the Medical Council of India that the hospital has been recognized for internship.
  7. Registration by any State Medical Council and
  8. Proof of SC/ST or Category I, as the case may be.

Candidates should obtain the Eligibility Certificate before the last date for admission as notified by the University.

A candidate who has been admitted to postgraduate course should register his/her name in the University within a month of admission after paying the registration fee.
